Quick start: your first video in 15 minutes
Sign up, create your first project, upload a video and get your first batch of shorts — step by step, no fine-tuning required.
This lesson is the shortest path from signing up to your first finished videos. We deliberately skip the detailed settings: they are easier to tune once you have seen results on your own material.
What you need
- An email address to sign up.
- One long video of you speaking: a webinar, livestream, interview or podcast recording of 20–60 minutes. A file from your computer or a link to your own video works.
- Your logo as PNG or SVG — optional, but it makes the videos look like yours from the start.
No long video? Start with an article instead — the article-to-video format covers that path.
Step 1. Sign up
Open the sign-up page, enter your name, email and password and accept the terms. After confirming your email you get a workspace with a free trial. No bank card is needed at this step.
A workspace is your account: it holds projects, your team and the subscription. A project is one brand or website. If you run a clinic and a doctor’s personal blog, those are two projects in one workspace.
Step 2. Create a project
Click “New project” and fill in four fields:
- Name — what you call the brand.
- Niche — a couple of sentences on what you talk about and for whom. For example: “A dental clinic in Kazan. We explain veneers, implants and oral hygiene to patients in plain language.” Trends, plans and copy all depend on this description.
- Content languages — Russian, English or both.
- Time zone — publishing schedules use it.
You can add the project website now or later: it is used for screenshots in videos and for API integration.
Step 3. Upload your logo and pick a subtitle style
In “Settings → Brand” upload your logo and choose a subtitle style. Everything else — colours, font, intro, outro — can stay at the defaults for now. See Project and brand style for details.
Step 4. Start cutting
Open “Studio → Clips” and:
- Upload a file or paste a link. Large files upload in parts, so a dropped connection resumes where it stopped.
- Choose the number of clips — 6–8 to begin with.
- Choose the duration: 20–45 seconds is a good start for YouTube Shorts and Reels.
- Tick the platforms you need captions for.
- Click “Start”.
The job appears in the list with clear stages: “Downloading source”, “Transcribing speech”, “Finding the best moments”, “Rendering clip 2 of 8”. An hour-long video usually takes 15–40 minutes — you don’t need to keep the tab open; we will notify you.
Step 5. Review and approve
Finished clips land in “Videos” with the status “In review”. For each clip you see:
- the title and description for each platform;
- the moment score and a short explanation of why it was chosen;
- the source timecode, so you can find the fragment in the recording.
If you like a clip, click “Approve”. If not, “Reject” or “Redo”: you can change the opening, music, filter or subtitles without touching the rest.
Step 6. Publish
Until platforms are connected you can download approved videos and post them manually. To let the service publish for you, connect your accounts — see Connecting platforms. Start with one platform, make sure everything looks right, then add the rest.
Common first-day mistakes
- A short or “silent” video. The service looks for complete thoughts in speech. If a recording is mostly music or an uncommented screen demo, there will be few moments.
- An empty niche description. Without it, copy and trends are generic. Two specific sentences about your audience make a noticeable difference.
- Turning on auto-publishing straight away. Work in manual mode first: you will quickly learn which clips suit you and fine-tune the style.
Next steps
- Set up your brand style so every video is recognisable.
- Learn how moment detection works and how to steer the result.
- Read about warnings and ad marking if your niche requires them.
